In
this page you will find the programme of events for the entire Carnival
of Verona and the Dukedom activities scheduling. During the months
of January, February and March, the Duke is constantly involved, not only
in the official events, but also in visits to nurseries, schools, institutes
and hospitals in order to bring the tradition to the children and joy
to those who suffer.
These
visits are free of charge and can be requested through the committee
or “The Duke’s Mailbox”.

Charity picture exhibition
Thurdsday 6th January 2011
Opening of the Carnival, with the presentation of the Masques in Piazza Brà.
Months of January - February
Dukedom’s visits to nurseries, schools, institutions, hospitals etc..
Organisation of the competition A Drawing for the Dukedom for pupils of elementary school.
Participation in Carnival parades in Verona and its province.
From Friday 21st to Sunday 23th January
Participation in Eurocarnival parade in Salzburg.
Sunday 13th February
Investiture of the “Goddess of Gold” and puppet show, offered free to all the children of Verona at 3.30 p.m. – Stimate Theatre
Friday 4th March
(Venardi gnocolar)
Participation in the city parade with the Goddess of Gold’s float, the Duke of the Pignata’s carriage, Masques of the Dukedom and 20 minor figures.
Monday 6th March
(Luni pignatar)
At 14.30 gathering of the Masques in Piazza Isolo; procession to St. Stephen for the great Dukedom’s party; presentation of the Masques; awarding of prizes to the winners of the competition A Drawing for the Dukedom; dancing in Piazzetta St. Stephen with big orchestra; distribution of the traditional “minestrone” (vegetable soup), wine, hot chocolate and other gastronomic specialities free of charge.
Tuesday 7th February
Participation in carnival event at Porto San Pancrazio (Verona)
At determinable future dates
Donation of wheelchairs and other indispensable articles to voluntary associations and charities.
